What is a tank eyewash station?
Tank eyewash stations are designed for mobile use or for use in locations where running water or a water inlet is not available. These eye showers ensure that first-aid facilities are available at hazardous workplaces where employees may come into contact with hazardous substances, acids, alkalis, heat, flames, and even extreme dirt. The limited, even, and, above all, gentle water stream is optimized for rinsing chemicals out of the eye.

What are the unique features of tank eyewash stations?
A water inlet for an eye shower is not always available in every location where there is a potential hazard from corrosive or flammable substances. Especially on sprawling industrial sites, construction sites, or in warehouses, installing water inlets requires significant effort. To provide cost-effective first aid even in these locations, tank eyewash stations can be used. The most common type is a portable eye shower with a 16-liter tank capacity.
Tank eyewash stations cannot replace systems permanently installed on the water supply network; however, they can provide effective first aid directly at the workplace where the risk exists.
How long is the flushing time for a tank eyewash station?
The BR958005 and BR960005 tank eyewash stations feature a 14-liter tank, ensuring an uninterrupted flushing time of approximately 2 minutes.
Note: All showers with a flush duration of less than 15 minutes should only be used as a temporary measure until a permanently installed shower is available.
How can you prevent scale buildup and contamination in the tank eyewash station?
Since the water in the tanks ages, it is essential to ensure that the flushing fluid is replaced regularly to prevent contamination. Depending on the type of flushing fluid, the following replacement cycles are recommended. For drinking water, we recommend changing the flushing fluid at least once a week; for drinking water with an antibacterial additive (BR910980), we recommend changing it after no more than 6 months.
What standards apply to tank eyewash stations?
Our tank eyewash stations comply with the EN 15154-4:2009 and ANSI Z358.1-2014 standards. Other national standards may also apply. In addition, company-specific standards may need to be taken into account when selecting a tank eyewash station.
